No Oxygen

Yes, that’s right. 

• Every being on earth needs oxygen to live, even bed bugs.  So the solution to get rid of oxygen for bed bugs is to wrap all your mattresses or other infested areas in a plastic wrap.  
• This will block any oxygen from entering the inside of the plastic and once the oxygen is used up inside, the bed bugs will die.
•  But I’m afraid to tell you that this will not kill all the bed bugs as there will always be few stray bed bugs which hide somewhere else but this is a step that kills most of them and I suggest everybody to try it.

Alcohol

• Pour rubbing alcohol into a spraying bottle and spray the entire bed including the bed frame, mattresses, and the area around it. 
• The alcohol will kill the bed bugs and their eggs which makes it a very effective weapon. 
• You can also spray it on your furniture or wherever else the bed bugs are hiding.

•  Bed bugs hate extreme heat, and they will be running away like cowards. Make sure you hit all of them with this.
•  Do this daily until you are rid of them for sure.

• Very cold temperatures are also what kills bed bugs. 
• There is no real way of creating extreme cold temperatures except for putting your things inside a walk-in freezer which seems like a bother. 
• The only way to use cold to your advantage is during winter. When going out somewhere open your windows wide and leave theme like that. If it’s cold enough on the outside, it might kill the buggers.

Chemicals

• If you can’t take the bed bugs anymore to the point where it’s messing with your mind then there is one solution left.

• Once they get in contact with it, the bed bugs will dry out as an effect and die. 
• Insecticide dust is a much safer alternative to bug sprays which are more harmful to humans but if you feel more comfortable with sprays then you should get it yourself as it is just as good.

5)  THE FINAL METHOD :

 You have to dispose them totally. By doing so you are not only eradicating these parasites from your household but also preventing them to enter into yours neighbors. If you do not do so then these might even enter again your house crawling to form a new colony for them.

 Usually bed bugs live for more than one year without food so, there is every chance of surviving of these bed bugs if you are not burning them and disposing. On a previous page, I talked about Bedbugs hiding in your flooring. This page is about sealing off the small holes and gaps they are coming in and out from.

There are two ways to go about solving the problem with bed bugs in your floorboard and the gap between the floor and the wall. You can either get someone to rip up your flooring and install a new floor which will be costly. Or you can go with the second option and seal up these bedbug spots.

So Now we will discuss What you need and How to Seal up The Floors and cracks:

REQUIREMENTS :

• Caulk
• Caulk Gun
• Disposable gloves
• A Tool to smooth out caulk
• A piece of cardboard

WORKING :

Caulk

With Caulk, you are basically sealing up the bed bugs exit holes so any existing bedbugs that are still hiding are trapped and to insure that future bedbugs can't use them to spawn in. I went into Home Depot and bought two bottles of clear caulk that dried quickly and is water proof.  There are many varities of caulks so depending on the type you buy, it can run you anywhere from a dollar to several dollars a bottle.

Caulk Gun

You need a Caulk Gun to use Caulk because that stuff is not something you can squeeze out of the bottle with. Caulk guns are easy to load and use plus they will give you a precise aim of where you want to lay down the caulk.  You can usually buy one at four dollars and change.

Disposable Gloves 

Caulk is sealant so it can get quite sticky on your hands so pick up some disposable gloves. Home Depot had several in a pack for a dollar and change.

A Tool To Smooth Out Caulk :

This should be something that can smooth and flatten out caulk after it's applied like a cement smoother. When the caulk is spread out, it will dry faster and can help cover up any tiny gaps you might have missed when you put down a line of caulk.

A Piece of Cardboard :

Use this to wipe off the excess caulk on the caulk nozzle.

This sealing process should take place long before you go to sleep, so you can let it dry and let the odor of the caulk dissipate after you're done. You should get a two person team to do this, one to use the caulk gun and the other to smooth out the caulk. Having two people also helps in looking for small holes and gaps that needs to be sealed. Two pairs of eyes are better than one. So what you do is seal up gaps in between  tiles and line with caulk where the floor and walls meet.

 Depending how big the room is and how many small openings you can spot, this project can take anywhere from less than a hour to a whole day. My bedroom is fairly big and it took me a couple of hours.
